Close to new bass. Not sure of year, that shows no signs of wear. Plays like a dream and tone is great! I have a small practice set up to try it with! I have had it for a year but I can't play anymore. Comes with a case but, it is a cheapy. Case sustained minor damaged in shipment to me. Ser # for date search, 120608322
