Stunning colors in my lines: blue, chocolate and black with white, green and purple streaks. (There color keeps changing daily growing even prettier each day.) They have been raised around dogs, chickens and goats. We have the ducks to help keep the pond clean, fertilize the grass and garden and eat the extra large eggs they produce.
Benefits of having Muscovy ducks as pets: they are super hardy, great foragers eating bugs, flies, keeping the pond clean and eat mice, and best of all they make great guard birds since they actually are from the goose species. Muscovy ducks have claws on their web feet used for perching and a male duck can defend off predators by scratching the eyes of the attacking animal.
Muscovy ducks are quiet, hardy, great for rodent and bug control and provide an excellent source of fertilizer for the yard and garden. Plus they are capable of defending themselves and come in stunning colors. Very inquisitive! They will follow you around like a puppy dog including showing happiness by it's tail and butt wagging! Produce big, extra large eggs and are wonderful moms.
