Rural homes needed for muscovy ducks that were abandoned after homes were destroyed in 2024 hurricanes.
They are not street savvy. They belong in the country not in city streets where traffic is heavy at both am and pm rush hours as well as school drop off and pick up times.
I have found them with broken necks, legs, wings. They do not respond to honking cars or road rage. People have busy schedules and no regard or patience for these laid back ducks. Instead of flying over vehicles they waddle slowly in front of traffic no matter the density.
I count at least 18 adults and 8 new ducklings on 9/21/25.
Location: they converge along sea wall in the evening between 706 and 2004 Virginia Dr Bradenton, FL 34205 along Wares Creek. They are between 7th Ave W. Bridge and 9th Ave. W. Bridge across creek from Ballard Elementary school, John Rebecca Neal Park and Community Garden on 9th Ave W.
Bring food, net and travel cage.
Thank you for your compassion.
