This Giant Rapid 2, formerly the FCR2, is a lightweight flat bar hybrid that offers an upright riding position but with the low weight and fast riding gearing of a road/cyclocross bike. It was called a speed hybrid or "messenger bike."
This size M bike is best for a rider generally under 6'1" tall. It has Shimano Tiagra 9x3 paddle/trigger shifting, 50/39/34 crankset, 11-34 rear cassette, double pivoting caliper brakes, carbon fork and seat post, rear rack mounts, and lightweight aero-spoke 700c wheels and a frame that accommodates tires from 23c to 38c in width.
Currently it has 23c rear/front tires mounted on its aero wheelset giving optimal speed for road use. If you like, I'll include a new set of Continental folding 28c tires.
Included are a removable tall handlebar riser for an even more upright riding position, new gel padded saddle, bottle cage, and a set of flat pedals. With wider tires and handlebar height adjustment this bike can be set up a multitude of ways.
It is in very good condition, has been regularly serviced, and has low mileage. The bike has only been road ridden and for an average of 10 miles per week, October through May, over the past nine years. It was mostly just an extra bike we kept hanging in our garage for guests to ride.
