The Burley Django is a short-wheelbase (SWB) recumbent bicycle model by Burley Design, an Oregon based co-operative noted for their bike trailers and strollers since 1978. They no longer make bikes.
Features and specifications:
Frame: Chromoly mono-tube frame with passive suspension (flexible chainstays) for a smoother ride.
Seating: Burley's custom Corbin leather saddle with mesh back is known for its easy adjustability. Corbin seats are one of the top custom seats purchased by motorcyclists. And Burley's seatback can be adjusted from a "semi-recumbent" position, as shown in the photos, to a laid-back recumbent for less wind resistance.
Handlebars: Pivoting, adjustable cruiser style handlebars for a customizable fit.
Components: The Django uses Shimano Sora, Deore, and Alivio components with Grip Shift shifters. It has a large 26" rear wheel and 24-speeds. This is not a slow-riding bike. Front sprocket is elevated slightly so heel-toe interference with the front wheel is avoided.
Medium/Large: Seat height is just 24 inches. Riders can have both feet on the ground when stopped. Designed to fit riders with X-Seams from 38″-48″, which is roughly for riders 5'5" tall up to 6'3".
Note: X-seam refers to a recumbent-specific measurement taken to determine the correct frame size.
