The Furniture Warehouse, a top 100 Independent Furniture Store Chain with six retail locations along Florida’s west coast is seeking an entry level Staff Accountant for our corporate headquarters in Sarasota, FL. This person will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
• Processing accounts payable
• Ordering of company supplies
• Capital purchasing for the company
• Preparing account reconciliations
• Preparing sales tax returns
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting required
• Minimum of 1 year on the job experience in Accounting or Finance
• Experience in purchasing for maintaining supplies and capital purchases for the company
• Experience with general ledger and complex accounts payable
• Able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and a process improvement mindset
• Ability to effectively communicate across various levels of the company and with vendors
• Possess a keen attention to detail
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
